Road closures are still in place following a fire at a recycling centre in Glasgow on Wednesday.

Police have confirmed the reopening of London Road east and west and The Clyde Gateway in north and south directions, days after the flames began.

Around 30 crew members from Scottish Fire and Rescue (SFRS) were called to the scene in Nuneaton Street around 2.30am on Wednesday.

The fire at the NWH Waste Collection/Recycling Site was described by police as “complex”.

The street along with surrounding areas were closed off as a result of the blaze.

Police said on Saturday: “Following the fire on Nuneaton Street, Glasgow, some road closures remain. London Road has now been opened east and west, and The Clyde Gateway is open north and south. Please plan your routes accordingly.”
