Residents have been evacuated from a building following a flat fire in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Clarkston Road in Cathcart after the alarm was raised on Sunday morning.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it was a police incident.

There are no reports of any injuries.

The road is currently closed between Struan Road and Holmlea Road.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman stated: “Around 11.15am on Sunday, September 6, police were called to a fire at a flat in Clarkston Road, Glasgow. 

“Emergency services are in attendance and the road is currently closed between Struan Road and Holmlea Road. 

“The building has been evacuated and there are no reports of any injuries. 

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
