Road closures have been announced in Glasgow following a gas leak.
Emergency services were called to the city’s Inverewe Avenue on Thursday evening.
Police confirmed that nearby houses have been evacuated as a “precaution”.
Three roads, including the M77 northbound and southbound, have been closed to the public.
A police spokesperson said: “Road closures are in place following a gas leak in Inverewe Avenue, Glasgow.
“M77 northbound and southbound at Nitshill Road.
“Nitshill Road to Loganswell Road.
“Nitshill Road to Kyleakin Road.”
A SGN spokesperson said: “NItshill Road, Glasgow, is being closed both ways, between Spiersbridge Roundabout and the M77, following third party damage to our gas network.
“M77 motorists exiting at junction three Nitshill Interchange will be affected.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5pm on Thursday, May 11, 2023, we received a report of a gas leak in Inverewe Avenue, Glasgow.
“A number of properties have been evacuated as a precaution and a cordon has been put in place. Nearby road have been closed.”
