A road in Argyll was closed for eight hours after a car collided with a tree on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the A83, a mile north of Furnace, following reports of a blue Kangoo Expression crashing into a tree.

The 79-year-old male driver was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Officers closed the road until 9.55pm to carry out an investigation.

Witnesses have been urged to come forward to assist with Police Scotland’s ongoing enquiries.

Sergeant Kenny Malaney said: “Our inquiries into the circumstances of what happened are underway.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has dash-cam footage to contact us as soon as possible, you may have captured something that could assist our investigation.

“The road re-opened around 9.55pm same date.

“I would like to thank members of the public for their patience while we carried out our enquiries into this serious crash.

“Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 1358 of April 14, 2025.”
