A road that was closed after a man’s body was found nearby has been reopened following a police investigation into the death.
Officers were called to the scene in North Lanarkshire after the discovery was made at around 8.30am on Saturday.
Calder Road was closed to cars and pedestrians up to the A721 at Bellshill Road.
The 57-year-old’s death was initially being treated as unexplained, but investigating officers later said that there were no suspicious circumstances.
The road reopened on Sunday morning, with drivers and pedestrians thanked for their patience.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Calder Road in Bellshill has reopened after the body of a 57-year-old man was found nearby, around 8.35am on Saturday.
“There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
“Motorists and pedestrians are thanked for their patience.”
