A retailer has vowed to bring hundreds of new jobs to North Lanarkshire.
Home Bargains said it wanted to build a distribution hub and offices at Castlecary, Cumbernauld.
The firm has applied for planning application to develop on the 7.8-hectare site.
Home Bargains has around 600 stores across the UK, and plans to soon employ more than 40,000 staff.
A spokesperson for Home Bargains said: “We are hugely excited about the potential for our plans for Castlecary.
“This site is ideal for several reasons – access for our distribution hub, positive use of a brownfield site, and most importantly the skills and talents of local people.
“Our plan to invest in a new distribution hub in Scotland show our long-term commitment to continuing our growth.”
