SNS GroupA Rangers fan ran across the track at Ibrox to challenge Celtic fans to a fight after an Old Firm cup match.
Wilson Martin, 60, jumped over a barrier to confront opposing supporters on March 8 this year.
Rangers hosted Celtic that day in a Scottish Cup quarter-final clash, which the visitors won on penalties.
Glasgow Sheriff Court was told that at the conclusion of the game, both fans entered the pitch and engaged in “large-scale disorder.”
Police reviewed the CCTV of the incident after the game as part of an investigation.
Prosecutor Katie Malcolm said: “Martin was identified as one of the people involved in the disorder.
“He climbed over a railing and ran on the track around the edge of the pitch.
“Wilson ran towards opposition fans and challenged them to a fight.”
Wilson later handed himself in at a police station, and he was arrested.
CCTV of Martin’s involvement in the disorder was played to the court.
Martin was highlighted in a blue jacket, standing several rows up the Sandy Jardine stand near the away support.
As the footage progressed, Martin was caught running down stairs before hopping over the barrier, which took him onto the track.
Martin was seen running towards the corner of the Celtic support before he was ushered back by a fellow supporter and returned to the stand.
First offender Martin, of Rutherglen, pleaded guilty to conducting himself in a disorderly manner and committing breach of the peace.
The sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month before Sheriff Shona Gilroy, who granted Martin bail.
