Quad bike driver killed after crashing inside cemetery

The 36-year-old man died in hospital following the crash in Glasgow on Sunday morning.

A man has died after his quad bike crashed into a “structure” at a cemetery in Glasgow.

The fatal smash happened at Lambhill Cemetery, on Tresta Road at around 6am on Sunday.

The 36-year-old victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to serious injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.

Officers have confirmed that enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At 6am on Sunday, June 12, 2022, Police Scotland received a report of a collision between a quad bike and a structure within the cemetery on Tresta Road, Glasgow.

“The 36-year-old male rider of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
