The public is being urged not to eat any products from a meal prep business which claims to supply Celtic and Hearts football clubs.
Food Standards Scotland has issued a warning over Soupbox Meal Prep, described as a local meal prep company based in Alloa, as the products could pose a risk to health.
Concerns have been raised over “inadequate food safety controls throughout the company’s production process”.
The warning adds that all products and meals may pose a risk to health.
According to the company’s website and social media, it provides meal prep to Celtic, Hearts and Glasgow City.
It describes itself as a “meal company, providing healthy freshly prepared meals with a modern twist”, with a background of working in fine dining.
Stuart McAdam, FSS head of incidents, said: “If you have purchased products or pre-prepared meals from Soupbox Meal Prep, do not take the risk of consuming them.
“Although the business has now ceased producing hot and cold food, we are urging anyone who may have frozen meals to take immediate action.
“Food Standards Scotland exists to protect consumers, and it is vital that all food businesses comply with the legal standards designed to keep food and consumers safe.”
Soupbox Meal Prep has been contacted for comment.
