An investigation has been launched after a car was deliberately set alight on Friday.

Emergency services were called to Dubton Street in the Easterhouse area of Glasgow following reports of a silver Vauxhall Corsa on fire.

The blaze was extinguished by fire crews and there were no reports of any injuries.

Investigators are treating the incident as wilful and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Detective Constable Stevie Martin said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any information which could assist to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and who has private CCTV or dash-cam footage to get in touch.”
