An investigation has been launched after a bomb threat letter was discovered at a school in East Dunbartonshire ahead of the senior dance.

Emergency services were alerted to a threatening note found at Turnbull High School in Bishopbriggs on Thursday.

In the letter, seen by STV News, the author discusses “imposing fear” and that the upcoming Snowball for S5 and S6 pupils would be the “perfect time”.

The writer also calls themselves a “psychopath” in the the note found in the school grounds.

No arrests have been made in connection with the letter, however, an investigation is ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of threatening communications at a premises in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow, on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

East Dunbartonshire Council has been contacted for comment.
