An investigation has been launched after a mini motorbike was deliberately set alight outside a home in Inverclyde.
Emergency services were called to the property on Old Inverkip Road in Greenock at around 2.30pm on Sunday after reports of a Stomp mini motorbike on fire.
The blaze, which took hold in the garden, was extinguished and no one was injured.
Police said the bike did not belong to the homeowner.
Detective constable Chris Watson said: “Fortunately no one was injured but the vehicle was destroyed, and the garden area was damaged.
“The fire is being treated as wilful, and we are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious to get in touch. Please also check any private-CCTV or dash-cam footage from between 2.30pm and 2.45pm on Sunday to see if you have captured anything that might help with our investigation.”
Those with information are urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1822 of October 5, 2025. Alternatively, a call can be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
