A warning has been issued to road users after multiple traffic lights are not functioning in Glasgow.

Glasgow City Council issued the warning around 8am on Sunday advising road users to take extra care at junctions.

The council confirmed there are currently 68 sets not working, however, it is not clear where they are.

The faults came after a power spike around 3.19am on Sunday.

A spokesperson for Glasgow City Council said: Due to a power spike at 03:19 this morning a minimum 68 sets of traffic signals are currently all dark.

“Due to the number of signals involved and that they are spread across the city it will take time for each site to be attended and brought back onto normal operation.

“Road users should exercise caution approaching affected signals in the interim.”
