'Positive line of enquiry' after assault which left teen in hospital

Police are “following a positive line of enquiry” after a teenager was rushed to hospital after a serious assault on Friday afternoon.

At around 1.40pm on July 14, police were called to Caledonia Street in Paisley to a report of the incident.

The victim, a 17-year-old man, was rushed to hospital for treatment for serious injuries.

A police cordon was seen in the area following the incident and some road closures are in place while enquiries are carried out.

Officers are now following a positive line of enquiry, Police Scotland confirmed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.40pm on Friday, July 14, 2023, officers were called to a report of a serious assault on Caledonia Street, Paisley.

“A 17-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries.

“Enquiries are ongoing and officers are following a positive line of enquiry.”
