Police have urged members of the public to avoid an area of Greenock due to ongoing protest activity.
Officers are currently in attendance in the Main Street area of the town as the situation continues.
A statement read: “We are aware of ongoing protest activity in the Main Street area of Greenock.
“Officers are in attendance and the public is advised to avoid the area.
It comes after police descended on Glasgow on Tuesday evening as crowds of people dressed all in black gathered in the city centre.
Emergency services were called at around 8pm. Dozens of officers, riot vans, and a helicopter were deployed, with a large presence near St Enoch shopping centre and Buchanan Street.
Two police officers and three members of the public, who were the victims of racist attacks, were injured during the unrest.
Three people were also arrested after emergency services were called to the city centre at around 8pm.
Demonstrations were also held in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ayr and Aberdeen.
It comes after an attempted murder in Belfast on Monday which sparked violence in Northern Ireland.
A 30-year-old Sudanese man who was given leave to remain in the UK until 2028 was charged and appeared in court on Wednesday.
