A hunt for two men in a van has been launched following the assault and attempted robbery of a 15-year-old boy in East Ayrshire.
Emergency services were called to the Onthank area of Kilmarnock after the incident took place at around 5pm on Monday.
The youth was uninjured following the attack, but was left “shocked”.
Officers are following a positive line of enquiry following the incident, and are looking to trace two men in a van who may have threatened others in the area.
Detective sergeant Steven Gray of Ayrshire CID said: “We are following a positive line of enquiry in relation to this incident.
“Our enquiries so far have revealed that the two men have been in a small van and have possibly threatened other members of the public in the area to obtain goods.
“We would like to hear from you if these men approached you. We are not aware that anyone has been injured.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 3889 of Monday, May 1, 2023.”
