Officers are searching for a man following an alleged serious assault in a park in West Dunbartonshire.

Police Scotland said a 32-year-old man was attacked at around 12.25pm on Friday within Christie Park in Alexandria.

He was taken to the Royal Alexandria Hospital for treatment.

The suspect is said to have made off in an unknown direction.

He is described as white and around 5ft 11ins. He was wearing a grey top with a hood.

Detective constable Jack Muir, of Clydebank CID, said: Our enquiries are ongoing to trace this man and I am asking anyone who saw him or knows where he might be to get in touch.

“This assault happened when the park was likely busy so if you were in the area and can help with our investigation then please make contact with us.”

Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1491 of Friday.
