Police have searched a further property in Ayrshire as part of their investigations into the murder of Alan Lawson.

Officers were seen at a property on Harbour Road in Ardrossan, close to the Isle of Arran ferry terminal, on Thursday afternoon.

The force confirmed the activity was part of their enquiries into the death of Alan Lawson on February 6.

The 36-year-old died in hospital after being assaulted at a property on Alexander Avenue in Largs over the weekend of Saturday, February 3.

It’s believed he was found injured at a property on New England Road in Saltcoats on February 4 before being rushed to hospital.

On Wednesday, armed police locked down Canal Street in Saltcoats as part of their investigations.

Officers were on the scene for several hours before confirming that the operation had concluded and no arrests had been made.

Police Scotland confirmed on Friday that they are following a “positive line of enquiry”.

An online portal where information, pictures and videos can be sent directly to the team has been launched in relation to the case.

It comes after content reportedly connected to the investigation was shared on social media.
