Police have issued a plea to help find a 35-year-old woman who has been reported missing from South Lanarkshire.

Claire Drainey was last seen leaving a supermarket on Lanark Road in Carluke at around 1.35pm on Tuesday.

Officers said they are “very concerned for her welfare”.

She was captured on CCTV driving a black Renault car with the registration YT19 FYP.

Claire is described as white, of slim build, with blonde hair. She is thought to be wearing dark jogging trousers, a dark jacket and pink trainers.

Inspector Greg Hunter said: “We are appealing for anyone who recognises Claire and may have seen her or her vehicle in the Carluke area this afternoon to contact us.

“We are very concerned for her welfare and would want any information to be passed urgently to officers.

“If Claire herself sees this appeal, I would ask her to please get in touch with her family to let them know she is safe and well.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1746 of Tuesday, March 12.
