Nearly a dozen Police Scotland officers have been suspended after “misconduct” was found during an investigation into shared text messages.
An investigation was launched in the West of Scotland regarding the sharing of mobile messages between 11 officers.
The officers involved have been suspended or placed on restricted duties, the force confirmed.
Chief superintendent Helen Harrison, head of professional standards, said: “Eleven officers in the West of Scotland have been suspended or placed on restricted duties in relation to an ongoing misconduct investigation into the sharing of messages via mobile phones.
“All officers are bound by our Standards of Professional Behaviour, which apply on and off duty.
“Any instance where an officer fails to uphold our standards will be investigated and appropriate action taken.”
