Police hunt for man after 36-year-old seriously assaulted

A search is under way for the suspect after a man was assaulted and sent to hospital.

Police are searching for a man after a 36-year-old was seriously assaulted in West Dunbartonshire.

Officers said a 36-year-old man was punched to the ground by another man just after 3pm on Friday at Garshake Road near the A82 Stirling Road junction in Dumbarton.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he received treatment before being discharged.

The suspect is described as white, in his 40s, with dark greying hair and was wearing a grey tracksuit at the time.

Detective constable Iain Allison said: “Officers have been carrying out enquiries in the area and we believe that there were two women in a bus stop nearby who helped the injured man.

“We are keen to hear from them as they may have information that could assist our enquiry.

“We’d encourage anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the incident take place, particularly anyone with dashcam or mobile phone footage to call police.

“If you have any information that may assist officers with their enquiries, then please call officers via 101 and quote incident number 2282 of Friday, October 6.
