Police Scotland have launched a hunt for a gang of three who assaulted a man at his home in East Kilbride.
At around 6pm on Thursday, a man was at his home in Chatham when three men entered and attacked him. He sustained injuries to his head, hands and leg.
Emergency services attended and the 59-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment.
There is very little information on the suspects – just that one of the men is white, around 6ft tall and spoke with a local accent.
Officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries and are gathering CCTV footage for any additional information on the trio.
Detective inspector Jamie Campbell said: “The motive for this attack is not known, however, we do believe this was a targeted attack.
“I am asking people in the local area to think back to last night, did you see three men hanging around, did you notice anything odd or suspicious? If you have any information about this incident, please contact us.
“In particular, if any motorists with dash cams were in the area, please check your footage as it could have captured something which would assist our enquiries. Any small detail could prove significant, so please do pass it on.”
Anyone with information has been asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2883 of July 7, 2022. Alternatively, people can also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
