A man who was arrested in connection with vandalism at Trump Turnberry has been released pending further enquiries.

The popular golf resort near the Girvan in South Ayrshire was targeted by vandals in the early hours of the morning of Saturday, March 8, with golf courses dug up and paint etched over the clubhouse.

Red paint could be seen daubed over the clubhouse while the greens were dug up and marker flags pulled down.

The luxury golf resort is operated by The Trump Organisation, which Donald Trump owns.

On Wednesday, police said a 33-year-old man had been arrested in connection with damage caused to a golf course and premises on Manse Road in Turnberry.

He has been released and officers said enquiries remain ongoing.
