CCTV released in bid to trace man in connection with taxi rank attack

A 51-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment for a facial injury following the attack on August 21.

CCTV images have been released of a man police wish to speak to in connection with a serious assault at a Glasgow taxi rank.

Officers believe the man holds information related to the attack, which occurred on Sunday, August 21 at a taxi rank at Buchanan Bus Station.

A 51-year-old man required hospital treatment for a facial injury as a result of the incident.

The person officers wish to speak to is described as white, between 18 and 30-years-old and of slim build, with short receding brown hair shaved at sides and a short beard. He was wearing a dark blue jumper with white piping around collar and cuffs, dark blue jeans, and white trainers.

Detective Constable Matthew McCann said: “This was a serious attack which left a man requiring hospital treatment.

“I would urge the man, or anyone who has information relating to the man depicted in the image to make contact with the police.

“Anyone with information can contact officers through 101 quoting reference number 0069 of Sunday, August 21.

“Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
