Man charged after police discover £385,000 worth of cannabis in car at ferry port

A man is to appear in court after drugs worth around £385,000 were found in a car at a ferry port.

Officers seized a quantity of cannabis from a vehicle at around 10.50pm on Monday, August 5 at Loch Ryan Sea Port in Cairnryan.

A 25-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the recovery.

He is due to appear at Stranraer Sheriff Court on Tuesday, August 6.

A police spokesperson said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and tackling those involved in the cultivation and supply of drugs is a priority for Police Scotland.

“The public has an important role to play, and we ask anyone who has any information or concerns about drugs to contact Police Scotland via 101 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
