Police say an incident which saw a man taken to hospital after a firearm was discharged in Glasgow was a “targeted” attack.

Officers were called to reports of a weapon being discharged within a premises on Drumoyne Road around 4pm on Friday, October 25.

A 52-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

His injury is described as not life-threatening and he is in a stable condition.

Officers said extensive enquiries are ongoing and extra patrols remain in the area.

Chief Inspector Jordan Dickson said: “We believe this was a targeted incident and there is not thought to be any wider risk to the public.

“Officers are carrying out extensive enquiries, including door-to-door and CCTV work.

“Extra patrols are also being carried out.
