Detectives have launched an attempted murder investigation after a man was found seriously injured on a Glasgow street.
The alarm was raised shortly before 3am on Sunday when officers were called to Dalmarnock Road near to Megan Street in Bridgeton.
Emergency services attended and a 31-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Police are carrying out enquiries and are treating the incident as attempted murder.
Glasgow City Council has advised that Dalmarnock Road is currently closed to all traffic between Main Street Bridgeton and Megan Street.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 2.55am on Sunday, September 6, police were called to a report of a man injured on Dalmarnock Road, near to Megan Street, Bridgeton.
“The 31-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he is being treated for his injuries.
“Detectives are currently carrying out enquiries in the area and the incident is being treated as attempted murder.”
