A police officer was transported to hospital after they attended a disturbance at a property in Renfrewshire on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to a home on Johnstone’s Thorn Brae at around 3.45pm following reports of an incident.

An officer was injured after attending the disturbance and taken to hospital. They were discharged after receiving treatment.

A 33-year-old man was also taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital for assessment. He was later arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

The man was due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a disturbance at a property on Thorn Brae, Johnstone around 3.45pm on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

“A 33-year-old man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for assessment and later released.

“He was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and was due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, December 16.

“A police officer was injured during the incident and was taken to hospital and released following treatment.”
