A man has been charged after a police officer was assaulted following a hit and run near Glasgow.
Road Policing Scotland confirmed a 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with multiple road traffic offences and drug offences.
Officers responded to reports of a hit and run in Renfrew on Saturday evening with a van believed to be responsible seen a short time later.
The driver allegedly failed to stop and was pursued by police being being chased on foot.
An officer was allegedly assaulted before the suspect was arrested.
He was held in custody and is due to appear in court on Monday.
