A pedestrian who died in a midnight crash in Paisley has been named by police.
Emergency services were called to the scene of a collision on Brediland Road at around 12.20am on Sunday, November 27.
Jim Paterson, 63, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the 26-year-old male driver of the car has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
Brediland Road remains closed to pedestrians and vehicles while investigations are ongoing and the public is urged to use an alternative route.
In a statement, Mr Paterson’s family said: “Our entire family is broken following the tragic death of our beloved Jim.
“Please, if anyone has any information or knows anything which could help the police, come forward.”
Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “Our thoughts are with Jim’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“As our enquiries into the crash continue, I would urge anyone who saw what happened or who has relevant dash cam footage of the area at the time to contact police.
