Police locked down a street in North Ayrshire and arrested two men following a “disturbance”.

Emergency services were called to Fergushill Road area of Kilwinning at around 8.30am on Monday.

A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with a disturbance, while another 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with outstanding matters.

Officers confirmed the incident was contained and enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.30am on Monday, March 25, 2024, police were called to the Fergushill Road area of Kilwinning, following a report of a disturbance.

“A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, whilst a further 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with outstanding matters.

“This was a contained incident and further enquiries are ongoing.”
