A search is under way for a man reported missing after police discovered his badly damaged car in Lanarkshire.

Sean Fallon, 32, was declared missing after his car was found on Townhead Road in Coatbridge, near to the Woodend and Lochend lochs, at around 1.05am on Wednesday.

Police are concerned that Mr Fallon may have been injured as a result of the damage to his car.

Hospitals have been contacted in an effort to trace him down, however there is no record of the 32-year-old visiting a hospital.

He is white, around 6ft 3in tall with short, dark hair, and has links to the Motherwell and Kilsyth areas of Lanarkshire.

Officers are checking for any relevant CCTV footage from the surrounding area, which may provide additional information about where Sean may have gone.

Anyone with any information or knowledge about his whereabouts is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0147 of October 26.
