An investigation has been launched after a flat was ‘deliberately’ set on fire in Paisley.
Police were called to the property in Blackstoun Oval on Friday around 2pm after the front door was set alight.
Officers said no one was injured as a result of the blaze, but stressed the situation “could have been much more serious”.
Detective Sergeant Stephen Knox said: “We are working to trace whoever is responsible and we have been carrying out enquiries and checking CCTV from in and around the local area.
“I would urge anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or who has information or personal footage that may assist our investigation to contact 101 quoting reference 1762 of July 8.
“Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
