An inquiry has been launched after a man was found dead in Glasgow city centre.

Emergency services were called to a premises in Argyll Arcade, off Argyle Street, at around 5.40am on Saturday.

A 51-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers have now launched an inquiry into the incident, however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.40am on Saturday, June 11, police were called to premises at the Argyll Arcade.

“Police and Ambulance attended, and a 51-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Police enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

“A report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
