Police have launched an appeal after a boat was stolen from a marina on Loch Lomond.

Officers were called to Cameron House Marina at around 8pm on Tuesday after receiving reports that a Carrera 225 had been stolen.

Early enquiries established the boat was taken from the marina and removed on a trailer towed by a light coloured SUV, before travelling Eastbound on the A82 before going through Old Kilpatrick.

The boat was later recovered from an area off the A809 Stockiemuir Road, north of Milngavie.

It is described as a 23ft long sports boat with a black and blue hull.

Detective constable Angela Tipping, of Clydebank Police Station, said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and would urge anyone with information to come forward.

“We would be keen to speak with anyone who believes they may have seen the boat at any point between Cameron House and where it was abandoned, or who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage.

“If you can help please call 101, quoting incident 1753 of December 7, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
