Owners 'distressed' after Labrador stolen outside city centre shop

A probe was launched after the black Labrador was stolen in Glasgow on Saturday evening.

A police appeal has been launched after a dog was stolen from its owners in Glasgow.

Officers were called after the black Labrador was dognapped outside a premises on Hope Street, at around 7.50pm on Saturday, August 13.

The suspect is described as male, around 25 to 30 years old, around 5ft 11in in height, of slim build with short brown hair.

When last seen he was wearing a grey Nike tracksuit and black trainers.

Police have now called for any witnesses into the incident to come forward.

Detective constable Kimberley Douglas said: “The theft of the dog has caused considerable distress to the owners.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone with any information which may assist us, who hasn’t already spoken to police to get in touch.

“The area was busy at the time and I would also ask anyone who was in the area and noticed anything suspicious to contact us.”
