Police have issued an appeal for information after a ‘vulnerable’ elderly man was reported missing from Glasgow.

Bernard Murphy was last seen in Hollybush Road in the Penilee area of the city, at around 2am on Sunday.

Police said the 83-year-old is described as being 5ft 8in, with grey hair and balding at the top and sometimes walks with a stoop.

He may be wearing a skip cap and is believed to be wearing dark coloured dress trousers, brown dress shoes and an unknown top.

Police Sergeant Dean Shankie of Pollok Police Station said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of Bernard along with his family. Bernard is very vulnerable. He is able to walk at a reasonable pace, but may walk stooped over from the waist.

“We are carrying out extensive searches and reviewing CCTV in an effort to trace him but there have been no confirmed sightings of him.

“I would urge anyone who has any information on Bernard’s whereabouts or who has had contact with him to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting 1586 of September 11, 2022.”
