Police ScotlandPolice investigating a rape in Saltcoats have traced a man they wanted to speak to.
Detectives are investigating the serious sexual assault that occurred in the early hours of June 13.
The image of a man was released as part of the investigation. The force confirmed on Friday afternoon that he had been traced.
Officers are also appealing for anyone who was in the area of Raise Street in Saltcoats at the time to contact them.
In particular, anyone with dash cam or doorbell recording equipment is asked to check the footage as there may be images which could assist the ongoing inquiries.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “If anyone has any information, please contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3890 of Thursday, June 13, 2024.
“Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can give your information anonymously.”
