An investigation has been launched following a deliberate fire at a pub in Glasgow city centre.
Emergency services, including nine fire engines, were called to the rear of The Maltman on West Regent Lane at around 2.40pm on Sunday.
West Regent Street was closed from Hope Street to Renfield Street, and Renfield Street was shut from West Regent Street to West George Street while the incident was brought under control.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has now left the scene, and there were no reports of any injuries.
Police are treating the fire as deliberate and has launched an investigation.
A statement read: “Around 3.15pm on Sunday, October 4, 2026, we were called to a report of a fire at premises in West Regent Lane, Glasgow.
“The fire is being treated as wilful, and enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information should contact 101, quoting incident number 1763 of October 4.”
