Police are investigating after a laptop and wallet were stolen from a food bank in Ardrossan.

The items were taken from North Ayrshire Foodbank in Glasgow Street on Wednesday.

An Apple laptop was stolen from the facility, based at the town’s Church of Nazarene, with a wallet later being taken at the food bank’s Community Food Shop.

Staff said new security measures will be introduced following the incidents.

A spokesperson for North Ayrshire Foodbank added: “These hugely disappointing occurrences have dented our confidence in the work that we do, but will not deter us from continuing.

“As you can imagine, it is not nice having things stolen.

“We ask that whilst we work through how to protect staff and their possessions, balanced with maintaining a receptive and supportive environment, that service users be patient with the food bank.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2pm on Wednesday, 14 October, 2026, officers received a report of theft from a premises on Glasgow Street, Ardrossan.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
