Police are investigating after a house was damaged by a fire at a building site.
Detectives are appealing for information into the blaze that took place in the Newton Avenue area of Elderslie on Saturday.
Emergency services attended the scene at around 9pm and officers say they are treating the fire as wilful.
Significant damage has been caused to a house which was under construction.
A group of youths were spotted in the area shortly before the fire took hold but it is not clear at this stage if they were involved.
Detective Sergeant James McAteer said: “The fire has caused significant damage to the house and it is being treated as wilful.
“We have spoken to people in the local area who have said that a group of youths were seen in the area shortly before the fire.
“I urge anyone who was in the Newton Avenue area shortly before 9pm on Saturday evening, who witnessed anything suspicious or has any information that may assist our investigation to contact us.
“I would also ask anyone with dashcam or personal footage from the area to review their recordings and get in touch if it holds anything relevant.”
Information can be passed to officers through 101.
