Google MapsA man has been left with “serious” injuries after being assaulted by a gang of youths in Paisley.
Police were called to Ferguslie Park Avenue around 5pm on Saturday after a 60-year-old man was approached by the group and attacked.
The man was taken to University Hospital Crosshouse in Kilmarnock for the treatment of “serious but not life-threatening” injuries.
Detective constable Robert Urquhart of Paisley CID said: “Extensive enquiries are being carried out to establish the full circumstances of this incident.
“We know that the area was busy at the time and would ask anyone who witnessed the incident and who hasn’t already spoken to police to get in touch.
“I would also ask any motorists with dash-cams who were in the area to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could assist with the investigation.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact police via 101 quoting incident 2101 of May 11. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
