A man is in hospital after being seriously assaulted at a flat in Paisley, as police are appealing to trace another.

At around 2.40pm on Sunday, August 27, police were called to a flat on Gallowhill Road in the town.

A 53-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

Enquiries are ongoing to trace a man believed to be involved in the attack. 

Detective Sergeant David Tomlison of CID said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing, we are carrying out door to door enquiries and reviewing CCTV in an effort to trace the man responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw the man in the area before or after the incident. I would also appeal to any motorists or taxi drivers who have dash cam footage you may have captured something that would assist our investigation.”
