A body has been found in the search for a man missing from Lanarkshire.
Matthew Cosgrove had not been seen since Sunday, February 26 and an appeal was launched to locate him shortly afterwards.
Police confirmed the discovery in the Lesmahagow area on Friday, March 3.
Officers said formal identification was still to take place, however Mr Cosgrove’s family has been informed.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained.
A report is to be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
A statement read: “We can confirm that a body has been found by officers searching for missing man Matthew Cosgrove.
“Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of the missing 56-year-old who was reported missing on Sunday, February 26 have been made aware.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
