Body discovered during search for man missing for almost two weeks

A body has been found in the search for a man missing from Lanark for almost two weeks.

Kevin Coll, 56, had not been seen since Friday, August 5, and an appeal was launched to locate him shortly afterwards.

Police confirmed the discovery in the Woodhall Road area of Braidwood, Carluke at around 1pm on Thursday.

Officers said formal identification was still to take place, however Coll’s family have been informed of the discovery.

A Police Scotland statement said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

“Around 1pm on Thursday, August 18, the body of a man was found in the Woodhall Road area of Braidwood, Carluke,” a spokesperson for the force confirmed.

“The family of missing man Kevin Coll (56) have been informed.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
