iStockA road near East Kilbride is closed to traffic in both directions after a gas leak was reported.
The A726 is closed between Chapelton and Coldstream Road, after the leak was reported at around 3pm on Monday.
Police Scotland have urged drivers to use an alternative route and have asked the public to avoid the area.
A police spokesperson said: “The A726 is closed between Chapelton and Coldstream Road due to a gas leak which was reported around 3pm today.
“The road is likely to be closed for some time and local diversions are in place.”
