A CCTV image of a man has been released as police attempt to trace him in relation to a assault onboard a train leaving Glasgow.

At around 7.55pm on Thursday, December 8, 2022, an assault took place during a train service travelling from Glasgow Central Station to Barassie Station, near Troon.

Officers believe the man in the images may be able to assist in their ongoing investigation.

The man is described as white, 50 to 60 years old, with short brown/grey hair and unshaven.

At the time he was wearing a brown coat, grey hooded jumper, dark blue jeans, brown boots and a blue and white striped beanie hat.

Detective constable Martin Graham, of British Transport Police CID said: “I would urge the man pictured or anyone who has any information relating to him, to contact police.

I would also encourage anyone who may have witnessed or has any further information about this incident to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference number 2200128141.”
