A man has been arrested then released without charge in connection with the attempted murder of a 21-year-old in Greenock.
Officers were called to a report of a man found injured in the West Blackhall Street area around 12.10am on Saturday, September 28.
He was taken to hospital for treatment following the incident.
A 53-year-old man was arrested then released without charge.
A police presence remains at the scene.
A Police Scotland statement read: “A 53-year-old man who was arrested in connection with an attempted murder in Greenock, has been released without charge.
“Around 12.10am on Saturday, September 28, 2024, officers were called to a report of a 21-year-old man found injured in the West Blackhall Street area.
“He was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Enquiries remain ongoing.”
