Man 'assaulted by group of youths' required treatment in hospital

Police have urged any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

A man required hospital treatment after being assaulted by a “group of male youths” on Thursday evening in North Lanarkshire.

On September 29, a 32-year-old man was assaulted on a pathway near Earlston Crescent, in Coatbridge at around 7.30pm.

He was taken to University Hospital Monklands for treatment and was later discharged.

The suspects who assaulted him are a group of male youths, aged between 15 and 16-years-old who were wearing dark clothing at the time.

Police are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information to come forward.

Detective constable Lyndsay McKinnon of Coatbridge CID said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this to come forward.

“We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around that time.

“Anyone who may have information which could assist our enquiries are asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 3070 of Thursday, September 29, 2022.

“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
