Police say a black Volvo CV90 was deliberately set on fire at around 7pm on Friday.

Police are appealing for information after a car blaze in Port Glasgow.

Detectives said a black Volvo CV90 car was deliberately set on fire in Burnside Avenue, near to Southfield Avenue at around 7pm on Friday January 17.

The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no injuries.

Detective Constable Ruth Elder said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything to contact us.

“We also ask anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage of the area at the time to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 3039 of 17 January, 2025. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.
